BBL04 bargains (BBL Fantasy)
- Updated: December 3, 2014

There are plenty of cheap options in this format of the game. With that in mind, it’s not good enough just to select anyone who’s playing. They need to be good contributors. With a lot of byes this season and limited trades, your bench players will spend a lot of time starting on the field.
CHRIS HARTLEY ($32,000, WK) – Had a strong Matador Cup (average of 58) opening the batting for Queensland. He moved from the Heat to the Thunder during the off-season and the big question is where will he bat? If he opens, he’s a must have. Even if he doesn’t, he’s a decent option for your bench.
XAVIER DOHERTY ($33,900, BWL) – At almost the minimum price Doherty certainly stands out. Bowls quite negatively so doesn’t always get wickets but he’s a proven short form bowler at this level and should be considered. Some chance of missing out if Hobart only want one spinner and prefer Boyce.
TRAVIS HEAD ($36,000, BAT) – An established member of the Redbacks best team in both forms, becoming a regular for the Strikers seems inevitable for the talented young left hander. Not only that but he’s a good chance of finding himself a spot at the top of the order as well.
ADAM ZAMPA ($36,000, BWL) – A good chance to play but certainly not a lock. You can almost guarantee that Richardson, Laughlin, Botha and Tait will be there. That leaves one spot for one of Zampa, Neser ($95,700!), Putland ($36,000), Holland ($68,600), Sayers ($32,000) or Lawford ($32,000).
CLINT MCKAY ($36,800, BWL) – Had a nightmare in BBL03. He’s a better bowler than that and should be strongly considered at that price.
NIC MADDINSON ($49,700, BAT) –  Very talented but has been frustrating in previous BBL seasons. Will once again bat in the top order and have the opportunity to score a lot of runs.
JOE BURNS ($50,900, BAT) – Another talented batsman who is yet to really perform well in T20 cricket. The Heat have a lot of batting but not many natural top order batsmen. Burns is a good chance to be in the top 3.
Let us know your thoughts on these options and anyone else you have in mind in the comments.
