Perth Scorchers preview

BEST XI

Michael Carberry ($92,500/TBA)

Michael Klinger ($69,200/85k)

Adam Voges ($61,000/85k)

Sam Whiteman ($47,900/70k)

Ashton Turner ($44,600/55k)

Hilton Cartwright ($36,000/40k)

Ashton Agar ($49,900/55k)

Yasir Arafat ($101,200/85k)

Jason Behrendorff ($90,600/70k)

Brad Hogg ($73,600/70k)

James Muirhead ($48,800/70k)

– With four of their best XI unavailable, there are a few spots up for grabs in this lineup.

– Seam options Andrew Tye and Simon Mackin could be preferred over Muirhead or Agar. It’s probably unlikely they’ll go in with 3 spinners, particularly in Perth.

– Cartwright is the only vulnerable player in that top 6. Marcus Harris is the only other option. Cartwright batted ahead of him in the Scorchers practice match today so he appears to be the favourite for the spot.

FIXTURE ANALYSIS

Byes: Round 1, Round 7

Doubles: Round 2, Round 5

You’ll want plenty of Scorchers for the middle rounds. It’s well worth utilising the rolling lockout and putting a Scorcher on your field if you’ve already got a good score on the bench you’d like to use. Not only does this improve your round 1 score but it sets you up nicely for round 2.
